How do I obtain a fingerprint?

You need to email fingerprints to your PACS partner when requesting new licenses. To obtain a fingerprint:

Standalone licenses:

  1. Install Voxar 3D
  2. Go to Start > Programs > Voxar License Management > Sentinel RMS > Obtain Standalone Fingerprint

License Server:

  1. Ensure the license server pc has:
    - The correct time and date settings
    - A fixed IP address
  2. Install the Voxar license server software from the Voxar 3D CD-ROM (licenseserverinstaller.exe)
  3. Go to Start > Programs > Voxar 3D Sentinel License Server > Sentinel RMS > Obtain Server Fingerprint

How do I set up a concurrent license server?

  1. Ensure that the license server pc is:
    - Powered up at all times
    - Stable
    - Subject to a light workload
    - Connected to the same network as the Voxar 3D client PCs
  2. Install the software:
    - Ensure you are logged in as a user with admin privileges
    - Close all open programs and insert the Voxar 3D CD
    - Select ‘Install the Sentinel RMS license Server’
    - Follow the on-screen instructions, and restart the server when prompted
  3. Configure the license server:
    - Click Start > Programs > Voxar 3D Sentinel license server > Administer License Server
  4. From the ‘Edit’ menu, click ‘Define server List’
  5. Add the new license server as a defined server:
    - In the ‘Server’ box, enter the host name of the server
    - Click ‘Add’
    - Click ‘OK’
    - Exit the WlmAdmin program
  6. Add your licenses to the new license server:
    - Click Start > Programs > Voxar 3D Sentinel license server > Add Server License.
    - Paste the license code containing the licenses you purchased

Voxar 3D 6.x application buttons are grayed out and unavailable

The Voxar 3D 6.x study browser displays a list of applications in a panel on the right side of the display window

  • Applications that are available (licensed) can be launched using this panel
  • If no licenses can be found, the buttons are grayed out and cannot be selected

If you think applications should be available to you (ie: have been purchased) but the buttons are still grayed out:

  • Click the ‘About’ box at the top right of the screen, then click on ‘licenses’. This will show information about the licenses the application can currently see.
  • If concurrent license server is being used, check connectivity to the license server – UDP port 5093 must be open to the Voxar 3D client PC
  • If you continue to have problems, contact support

I get a 'System time has changed' error when adding a standalone license

Time tampering errors appear when the licensing software sees that the system time of the PC has been changed by more than 24 hours since the Voxar 3D software was installed. This is a security measure to ensure time locked evaluation licenses cannot be used for extended periods by changing the PC clock.

If you get the message that time tampering has occurred, but you have not changed the system time:

  • Have you previously had evaluation copies of Voxar 3D installed? Any change to the clock since the first install of any Voxar 3D product can cause problems. Accidental time-tampering can occur e.g. by using the Windows clock as a calendar.
  • Does another Sentinel-licensed product exist on the same PC? This could cause issues with the Voxar 3D licensing mechanism.
  • Ensure the licensing system has been initialized by locating and running LicenseAdmin.exe
  • Try adding the license manually
    - The license file is located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Voxar\Licensing\LocalLicenseFile\lservrc
    - Open the license file in a text editor and add the license codes to the end of the file on a new line. Try running Voxar 3D.

If you cannot resolve this issue, contact support – make sure you include as much of the above information as possible.

How do I reinstall a broken licensing system?

If your licensing system is broken and problems cannot be resolved, cleaning licenses can be provided that will remove all traces of licensing from your system. You can then reinstall from scratch.

To obtain a cleaning license:

  • Go to Start > Run – type cmd – press Enter – browse to the installation folder of Voxar 3D where the VoxarLicenseAdmin file is located (usually C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Voxar3D)
  • Type: VoxarLicenseAdmin –guifingerprint –locking=0x10 and press enter - you will get a locking fingerprint
  • Send a copy of your fingerprint to Voxar 3D support, requesting a cleaning license
A cleaning license will then be provided. Note that the cleaning license will expire after 48 hours, so it must be used as soon as it is received.

The licensing fingerprint has changed

If licensing fails, it is important to check that the current fingerprint is the same as the one you requested licenses for. If the fingerprint is different, this can be due to a number of reasons:

  • Hardware change on the local PC
  • A different pc is being used than the one licenses were provided for
  • The IP address or network settings of a license server has changed

The easiest way to resolve issues with changed fingerprints is to request a cleaning license, so new licenses can be provided matching the new fingerprint. Follow the steps for requesting a cleaning license in How do I re-install a broken licensing system?.

Can I use redundant license servers (for fault tolerance)?

Redundant license servers can be configured to ensure the Voxar 3D system stays operational in the event of a license server failure. To install the software:

  1. Install the concurrent license server software on each server you wish to use for the redundant system
  2. On each license server, stop the Sentinel RMS service:
    - In Windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools
    - Double-click Services.
    - Locate and stop the ‘Sentinel RMS Developer Kit License Manager’ service.
  3. Click Start > Programs > Voxar 3D Sentinel > License Server > Sentinel RMS > Administer License Server. The WlmAdmin window is displayed.
  4. From the Edit menu, click Defined Server List .
  5. Add the license servers to the defined server list:
      - In the Server box, enter the IP address of the server.
      - Click the Add button – continue until all servers have been added to the list.

Which firewall ports need to be open for Voxar licensing to work?

  • Voxar 3D Workstation / Workstation for PACS:
UDP port 5093 needs to be open between client and license server
  • Voxar 3D Enterprise Elite:
UDP port 5093 needs to be open between client and server
  • Voxar 3D Enterprise Access:
No specific ports need to be open for Access licensing. As this is designed to be a distributed system, licenses are consumed by the server itself with no data transaction with the client required.
